Natalie looked through the men’s array of suits searching for anything brocade. She already had a heap of clothes in a corner, she hoped none of the tailors walked by, they would probably have a hissy fit to see her managing their creations like that. “Do I even want to know why you called both of us here?” Nadir asked, dryly. Natalie turned around to see her brother looking at her with his hands on his hips. Bram was already looking through the pile with a bemused grin.
“These are very fancy.” He said pulling out a silver brocade vest…
I once knew a man,
he was both my friend
and a love that changed me
Love isn’t always the same for everyone
Often people don’t see what’s right in front of them,
You fall for people,
and they fall for others,
on and on it goes
The face you have
is what others see,
women can change how people perceive them
with the way they wear their hair,
the way they paint their faces,
a pound of make-up,
a light touch,
it’s a reflection of the person,
that you want to…
“Well? Lucy scowled as yanked the chains that docked the rowboat to the port. “Were you?”
Travis tried to curb his frustration. “I don’t know. Probably.”
Her eyes darkened and she shuddered. “So, what? You were just going to up and leave in the middle of the night?” She tossed her measly bag into the boat before climbing into the hull.
“I don’t know.” The boat started to drift and Travis frowned. “You can’t be serious. You find out that I have a secret and you are just going to leave me here?”
Lucy’s face was like a storm when…
Nadir walked into the marble-tiled conference room seeing his bride be sitting in the middle of the Tomas brothers. He nodded at them both as he sat across from them, Natalie and the Reign house assistant Edward sitting on either side of him. The door opened from the other side and Amrita walked in looking harried.
“Do you realize how hard it was to escape the Lady Eleanor?” she grumbled as she sat at the head of the table, handing down file folders to each of them. Natalie and Nadir grinned at each other at her words. “How did you…
It’s been a year of being stuck in our homes, what do we have to show for it. While some people have been able to focus on more worthwhile endeavors like learning new skills, becoming more cultured, and even finishing their never-ending To Be Read list (TBR). While others have felt listless in terms of where they are in life.
Life has indeed come to a standstill. There are times in everyone’s life where all their passion and drive to move forward seems to vanish before their lives. Most of the early months of covid, I caught up more on…
Bram knew Natalie was approaching him from the way her heels hit the cold cobblestones outside of the café. It was a beautiful November morning. Not too cold, which is why he was outside drinking coffee that morning. Natalie slammed the open society pages on the table, in front of him. As she sat across from him fuming. “Did you see this?” she asked. Bram looked down on the paper seeing it was Nadir and Serilda dancing. The paper of course had almost taken the whole page with just that photo.
“Of course I’ve seen it. I work at the…
Hospital visits are terrifying no matter what kind of situation it is. Having to go to the hospital when there is an ongoing pandemic is a terrifying situation. Most recently I was ordered by my doctor to go to the hospital for a transfusion of something I desperately needed. While this was already terrifying for me as the fact that I have never had to go to the hospital for myself, it was made even scarier with everyone in masks and trying to skirt away from people who look sick or are coughing in fear of the Pandemic.
Ayla and Gwenore were escorted through a series of tents all linked together, an odd sort of barracks. The biggest tent wasn’t a Captain’s Quarters but a tribunal of some sort. Four Pirate Lords of different descents sat sternly watching Ayla and Gwenore. “We heard you have both asked for the right of Parlay.” One of the Lords, a girl with blonde curly hair and stern grey eyes said.
“I don’t see the choice we had when we were suddenly surrounded by pirates,” Ayla said. Her tone of voice was as defiant as ever and it made Gwenore cringe. “De…
In many of the Fantasy and Science Fiction novels out there, among the strong stubborn female role, there are underlying romance themes throughout novels. Many of these novels have a prevailing sense of romance themes. Sometimes the Romance themes are in the background of the main story, and at other times, the notes of romance play a huge part in the main theme of the story.
These are novels that have a power struggle between two different forces, for example, in The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard, there was a rebellion of Reds (Lower caste people), against the Silvers…
Serilda walked through the streets of the main street her head in the clouds. She hoped that she had helped Cate. She wondered if she should tell Nadir, but then she remembered that he had fought with Jake recently most likely over Cate so that didn’t seem like a smart idea. As she walked she heard her name and saw Dylan waving at her from across the street. She watched as he made his way to her. “Early morning or late night?” she asked, taking in his work clothes. “Late night.” He said. “Never take shots with Natalie. She’s an…
